A charitable trust has held two prestigious classical music concerts in a Norfolk chapel.
Music in Country Churches, which was established in 1989 with former Prince of Wales' endorsement, organised the events on July 30 and 31 at St Nicholas' Chapel, King's Lynn.
The English Chamber Orchestra, under maestro Koen Kessels and violinist Jose Matias, performed works by Mendelssohn, Strauss, and Mozart on the first night.
The Cardinall’s Musick, directed by Andrew Harwood, followed this up with a remarkable interpretation of Palestrina, Stanford and other composers' work the following evening.
Matthew Rice, chairman of Music in Country Churches, seeks out national and international talent to perform in parish churches.
Revenue from these concerts aids the maintenance of these historic church buildings.
To date, the charity has organised concerts in more than 55 country churches, raising nearly £600,000 in the process.
Notable attendees included His Serene Highness Dr Donatus, Prince of Hohenzollern, Chairman of the Friends of the English Chamber Orchestra and Patron of the London International Festival of Early Music.
