A married father has admitted harassing a woman after she spurned his advances.

Paul King, 51, repeatedly visited his victim's home and climbed into her garden while drunk, before urinating in her garden and spitting on her patio windows.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told the self-employed plasterer had breached a restraining order by continuing to visit and send unwanted text messages and calls.

Prosecutor Holly Postle said he had repeatedly scaled the fence into her garden but later claimed to have no recollection of his actions.

King, from Downham Market, pleaded guilty to harassment and breach of a court order between July 29 and August 9.

Kieran Dunphy, mitigating, said he had acted “like a fool” after misreading the situation with a woman who had no interest in him.

“He’s a married father in a very stable relationship with his wife who is standing by him,” he added.

Deputy District Judge Jacqui Appleton sentenced him to four months suspended for 12 months after stating his behaviour was “wholly unacceptable”.

He was made subject of a five year restraining order.
