A dog rehoming centre has issued an appeal for four pups who have never received a single application for adoption.

RSPCA West Norfolk published the appeal on its Facebook page on Saturday.

"Meet our beautiful dogs who have not received one application," the post read. "We would like to share with you four of our wonderful dogs who are waiting patiently for their forever home.

"We can not understand why no one wants to adopt them.

"They all have their individual personalities and needs and will make someone very happy."

1. Mitch

Mitch is an eight-year-old French Bulldog (Image: RSPCA West Norfolk) Frenchie Mitch came to the rehoming centre via the dog inspector and unfortunately didn't have the best start to life.

The eight-year-old has had to learn to trust people again and the staff at RSPCA West Norfolk have been working hard to reassure him that he won't be hurt.

Staff say that he is starting to become a "happy character" and now "struts around the centre like he owns it."

They added: "Mitch has shown us he likes affection on his own terms but still has days where he can be grumpy, so we would ask people with dog experience who can recognise when he wants to be left alone."

Mitch needs a patient, quiet home with no visiting children or dogs. There is a possibility he may be able to live with cats.

2. Lila

Lila is a Patterdale Terrier (Image: RSPCA West Norfolk) Described by staff as a "beautiful little girl", Lila is an 11-year-old Patterdale who could live with children over the age of 12.

Though an older dog, she doesn't act her age and loves longer walks and running around the garden at the centre.

Staff say she is an affectionate and playful pup who enjoys cuddles.

She wouldn't be able to live with dogs or cats and would prefer a quiet home with someone around for some of the day.

3. Lota

Lota is described as "bright" and "intelligent" (Image: RSPCA West Norfolk) Lota is an 18-month-old German Shepherd who was returned to the RSPCA after not settling in her previous home.

She is described as "a bright, intelligent girl who is sweet-natured and very affectionate".

As she has had little socialisation with other dogs, she can't live with other animals and should only live with children over the age of 15.

Since being back, Lota has been doing well on long walks and responds well to treats and lots of praise.

She will need experienced German Shepherd owners with time, patience and a large secure garden.

As Lota is nervous around traffic, the centre is looking to rehome her in a rural location.

4. Jack

Jack is a greyhound cross (Image: RSPCA West Norfolk) Greyhound cross Jack is approximately two years old.

He loves exploring and is described as a "clever, bright dog who needs mental stimulation".

At the centre, he enjoys playing with toys, snuffle mats and puzzles.

Lately, he has successfully been meeting new people and dogs in different environments and as he is well socialized, he could live in a busier area.

Staff say that once he has bonded with someone he will show them endless affection and love.

As the RSPCA recommends that sighthounds wear muzzles, Jack has been muzzle-trained.

Jack shouldn't live with children or cats, and it is unlikely that he would be able to live with other dogs.

Anyone interested in applying for Jack, Lota, Lila and Mitch should complete an application form at westnorfolkrspca.org.uk.
