Here is a round-up of five of the best spots to eat breakfast in the north Norfolk market town. 

1. Shambles

Rebecca Lysaght, a retired GP, and her husband David, opened Shambles in November 2018 after buying the premises in 2015.

It has since become one of the most popular food spots in the market town.

The Shambles breakfasts are served between 10am and midday from Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Options range from full traditional breakfasts and eggs benedict to egg or tofu shakshuka.

Vegetarian and vegan dishes are available.

2. The Brunch Bar

Its breakfasts are renowned among locals and workers for their quality, size and affordability.

The generous baps range in price from £1.80 to just over £4, while the full fry-ups start at just £4.

The bar also serves burgers, omelettes, sandwiches and wraps.

3. Cafe Kitale

This spot in the precinct has become a firm favourite of many locals over the years.

The dog-friendly cafe offers several different-sized traditional breakfasts - as well as breakfast sandwiches, baguettes and omelettes - all day, every day.

There are plenty of vegetarian options including a delicious smashed avocado on sourdough toast dish.

There is outside seating available for those visiting in the warmer months and tourists will enjoy checking out the large Lauren Hemp mural which was painted on the side of the building in March 2023.

4. Craft Bakery

People looking to grab a lighter breakfast can pop into Craft Bakery for a pastry.

The bakery opened its North Walsham shop in January 2023.

It also has venues in Cromer, Sheringham and Mundesley.

Its award-winning white sourdough bread is definitely the star of the show - so why not take some home for lunch too?

5. Ramblers

Ramblers is the café and tea room at the North Walsham garden centre.

Visitors can kickstart their day with a choice of several breakfasts before taking a stroll around the shop.

The Ramblers cooked breakfast and its vegetarian alternative come with a mug of tea or coffee or fruit juice.

The menu also offers egg, bacon or sausage sandwiches, a classic eggs benedict and American pancakes for those with a sweet tooth.

Breakfast is served between 9am and 11.30am Monday to Saturday and 10am until 11.30am on Sunday.
