A £1.9m shake-up could see major changes made to one of Norwich's main roads.
A speed limit extension, a new crossing, extra bus stops and a cycle route expansion are all being proposed as part of Norfolk County Council's latest plans.
The county council has revealed proposals which it says would make the A140 Holt Road better for pedestrians, cyclists and people using buses.
The planned project focuses on the section of Holt Road between Amsterdam Way and the roundabout with the Northern Distributor Road.
It would extend one of Norwich’s cycle-friendly routes, the yellow pedalway, which runs between Norwich airport and Lakenham.
The council's plans include a new toucan crossing near the Hellesdon allotments, plus extra bus stops - two outbound from the city and one inbound.
A new shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians would be provided, to extend the existing one, while a new footpath would also be created.
The 40mph speed limit on Holt Road would also be extended to the NDR roundabout.
Graham Plant, the Conservative-controlled council's cabinet member for highways, infrastructure and transport, said: "This area is a major corridor for all modes of transport.
"These plans look to improve on and extend the existing yellow pedalway route, while also maintaining current capacity for general traffic and making the area better for people walking, wheeling and using bus services.
"We’d like anyone who lives in or travels by any mode through this part of Norwich to share their views.
"The feedback we receive will be carefully considered and provide valuable information as we shape the final proposed design for the project."
Funding would come from the Greater Norwich Growth Boards Infrastructure Investment Fund, the Department for Transport’s Transforming Cities Fund and the county council's Local Transport Plan.
The deadline for comments - via www.norfolk.gov.uk/holtroad - is Monday, August 26 and, if approved, work would start early next year.
