Five people were arrested after a man in his 30s was stabbed and hit with a crowbar in a violent attack.
The assault happened in the Yaxleys Lane area of Aylsham at around 9pm on Wednesday when the group of men and women became involved in an altercation with the victim.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries but has since been discharged.
According to a family member, the stab wound was 18cm long and 8cm deep and fractured one of the vertebrae in his spine.

His nose was also fractured in two places.
Norfolk Constabulary confirmed that three men in their 20s had been arrested - one on suspicion of GBH and affray, a second on suspicion of GBH, and a third on suspicion of GBH and possession of Class A drugs.
A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of GBH and a woman in her late teens on suspicion of affray.
All were taken for questioning at King’s Lynn, Wymondham and Aylsham Police Stations and have now been released on bail.
