An active member of the region's farming community said he is "honoured" to become the new chairman of a Norfolk-based agricultural charity.
Ben Turner will lead the Clan Trust, which funds Norfolk projects linked to agriculture and the countryside, after taking over the role from outgoing chairman Robert Alston.
Mr Turner is a director of family business Ben Burgess, the Norwich-based farm machinery supplier, and he also sits on several other local interest groups and councils related to agriculture and the food industry.
"I am honoured to step into the role of chairman and continue supporting rural communities across Norfolk," he said.
"The Clan Trust supports agriculture throughout Norfolk in many ways, and I will ensure the legacy of our founder continues to provide opportunity under the guidance of our team of trustees."
The Clan Trust was founded in 1968 with a legacy from the late Robert Alston, of Witton Hall, North Walsham.
The charity supports farming activity and education throughout Norfolk, and recently made a £10,000 donation towards the STEMM village, Discovery Zone and the new sheep shearing demonstration at the Royal Norfolk Show.
Other activities include supporting the Norfolk Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, and educational scholarships for those studying degrees linked to agriculture through partnerships with the University of East Anglia and Harper Adams University.
