A new British musical tipped as the "next big thing" will premiere at a Norwich venue.
The Highwayman will debut at Norwich Theatre Playhouse from August 14 to 18 2024, with the book, music and lyrics by Kitty Morgan.
It will take audiences on a full-throttle gallop through the grimy underbelly of 1600s England, where love is as dangerous as a back-alley brawl.

Kevin Wathen (Skellig, Young Vic and Get Carter, Northern Stage) will play the title role of Duval, The Highwayman, a dashing rogue and self-proclaimed sociopath.
Produced by Norwich Theatre and OVO, the show will then head out on tour, visiting the Roman Theatre St Albans, New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.

The musical, directed by OVO's Adam Nichols, is inspired by the classic poem by Alfred Noyes.
Wendy Ellis, producer and director of Creative Programmes and Audiences for Norwich Theatre, said: "Norwich has a reputation for taking a risk on the new and being the place to see the next big thing and the Highwayman is no different - it is certainly one to watch."
Tickets cost from £16-19 at norwichtheatre.org
