A tourist hotspot has been given the go-ahead to use an annex as a three-bedroom holiday let.

The owner, Todd Henderson, successfully applied to have an extension at Rayners Farm Lodge near Dereham used as a three-bedroom getaway.

He said that changing the use of the wing would give guests living in Norfolk a chance to see more of the nearby countryside.

"Some guests simply want a relaxing break inside their own county," he added.

"We have also had multiple bookings from individuals with family local to Mattishall looking to use the let as a base for visiting their family members."

He said more guests would be able to enjoy the "peaceful and relaxing setting" of Mattishall, where the lodge is located.

"This holiday let will benefit local businesses and they are all very keen to see potential customers come into the village.

"The let has many bookings throughout 2024 and has been booked and attended by guests already, with excellent feedback."

Mr Henderson, who also owns a national training company, said his clients often stayed in the annex, which is what led to the idea to convert it.

"Without fail every single one of them has stated that Norfolk is an incredible hotspot for tourists and this would make a fantastic site for a let to make use of the annex.

"It would also bring an economic boost to the local shops and services, all of whom are very pleased that we have been able to bring people in."
