Police have confirmed that a man in his 40s has now been arrested on suspicion of careless driving.

He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has since been released on police bail until October 20, 2024.

The man has not been charged and police enquiries are continuing.

Under UK law, external, private e-scooters are illegal to use on public roads, while rental scooters can only be used in areas permitted as part of a national trial.

An e-scooter trial ran in Great Yarmouth until January when the company that operated it pulled out.

Officers are continuing to appeal to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage, CCTV or Ring Doorbell footage.
