Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy a tradition that dates back more than a century.
Fun for all the family attracted the crowds to Blakeney this weekend as people gathered at the quayside and others sat picnicking in boats on the water.
The crowds clapped, cheered and saluted those brave enough to take part in a series of unique activities as the annual Blakeney Sailing Regatta made a welcome return.
With aquatic events taking centre stage on Saturday, the fun continued on Sunday, July 28 as rural sports including 'Tilt the Bucket' shone on the playing field.
The opening day fun had seen a tug-of-war competition keenly contested on the incoming tide, before swimming races, a 'gilly' (crab) catching competition and a sandcastle competition were all enjoyed.
And there was the chance for onlookers to witness International 14s races over both days at Blakeney Sailing Club.
But for a number of hardy, fearless competitors a challenge that dates back over 100 years to 1873 was a particular highlight of the weekend.
Blakeney's annual greasy pole competition attracted a good number of brave participants as it provided "great entertainment" on what was a "super day" according to onlookers.
While it may seem a little bit like walking the plank, and the objective of the challenge may sound simple enough, it is however a lot tougher than that.
Participants have to walk, run or slide across a heavily greased 30ft-long wooden telegraph pole that is suspended above the water as they aim to make it to the end of the pole without falling in.
For those that bravely stood up to be counted on Saturday in Blakeney's annual greasy pole competition, there were plenty of thrills - and spills - which were enjoyed by the whole family.
