Neighbours upset by a noisy fan in an upmarket gastro pub could soon be in for a more peaceful time.
West Norfolk Council has agreed for a new cowling to be placed on a chimney at the rear of the Hoste Inn at Burnham Market, which is now owned by the City Pub Company.
A planning officer's report said: "The cowl is required to comply with environmental health noise standards.
"The existing open chimney pot has allowed water ingress into the internal kitchen fan system causing harm to the building and the fan, resulting in the fan creating a higher noise output.
"This is causing a disturbance to the occupiers of the neighbouring properties."

A design and heritage statement admits rainwater ingress "has resulted in the system operating at a higher noise output than originally designed and causing disturbance to neighbouring properties".
The business, formerly the Hoste Arms, was built in the 18th century. The Grade II listed building has been extended considerably in modern times.
