Plans to extend a historic riverside hotel have moved a step closer.
Fenland council agreed an eight-bedroom extension at the White Lion Hotel in Wisbech in November.
Now details which were reserved at the time, including building materials and the layout of the car park, have also been given the go-ahead, meaning work can begin soon.
A planning statement said the work was vital to secure the future of the landmark business, which has stood on the South Brink overlooking the River Nene since the 1850s and was described as "a Wisbech institution".
It added: "The White Lion is an important feature in Wisbech both in terms of its location on South Brink and in relation to its function as one of the only town centre hotels in the town.
"It has however suffered a period of reducing activity and viability, such that new investment is required."
