A new fried chicken shop "so good it will rival KFC" has opened in the city centre.

Zaza's is Magdalen Street's latest addition, specialising in homemade chicken, burgers, casseroles and Turkish food.

The eatery is run by Barzan Aga, 20, and his father Mitaht, 47, who have more than 20 years of experience in kitchens and restaurants from London to Istanbul.

Mitaht said: "My son is running the business as his first full-time venture.

"Our best dish is the chicken which we think is better than KFC's.

"There are so many chain stores which do fried chicken but not enough who do it authentically in Norwich."

Zaza's, located at 71 Magdalen Street, opposite Anglia Square and formerly The Fish & Chip Shop, also offers "affordable" meal deals for the lunch crowd.

Mitaht added: "We've not been open long but we're getting busier all the time.

"I think people really have an appetite for genuine and honest food."

Zaza's is open from 11am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, 11am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
