A picturesque coastal village is readying itself for its annual traditional fair featuring artisans, games, and food.

On July 28, the Overstrand Village Fair will offer an array of activities from 11am-4pm at the Overstrand Sports Ground.

It is a platform for diverse artisans in North Norfolk and beyond, showcasing products from ceramics, quilting, needlework to locally made honey, willow crafts and stained glass.

A key highlight of the festival is a vintage and classic car display, hosting models ranging from Rolls Royce to Land Rovers, Morris Minors, and Minis.

The event also has a range of games suitable for all age groups.

Activities include classic games such as the coconut shy and 'Bash the Rat' and a horse racing game.

There are food stalls and attendees can indulge in a selection of hot food, ice cream, and baked goods, while also taking advantage of the licensed bar.

Live entertainment will be provided by Marlene’s School of Dance.

Overstrand Together, the event organiser, also presents opportunities for event-goers to leave as winners with a mixture of raffles including a tombola and on-stall games.

A standout prize is a mountain bike, with tickets costing just £2.

Established by a public meeting in 2014 at the White Horse Public House, Overstrand Together coordinates fundraising events for the village with a steering group working alongside people living in the area.

The conclusion of the fundraising year in April sees groups, societies and associations invited to submit funding applications for projects benefitting villagers.

To date, Overstrand Together has funded projects exceeding £35,000.

Final decisions on the distribution of monies raised are made at an open meeting, with villagers given full details of all projects before casting their votes.
