A Norwich man accused of failing a drug driving test has blamed medication he was using to ease dental pain.
David Turner, 68, from St Benedict’s Street, pleaded not guilty to being over the legal limit for Benzoylecgonine, a cocaine breakdown product, when driving a Mercedes on Aylsham Road on December 30.
Ralph Gilliam, his defence solicitor, told Norwich Magistrates’ Court he was seeking expert evidence over whether his dental medication was to blame.
He will stand trial on August 15.
