A family-run pub will reopen under new management this weekend after less than a year with its previous landlords.

Daryl and Carly Jones took over The Longe Arms in Spixworth last October, promising to give it a "new lease of life".

The couple moved to the village from Sprowston nearly four years ago with their three children and Daryl previously worked as a chef at Bure River Cottage in Horning.

But just nine months later the couple announced they would be leaving.

In a statement on social media, they said: "We have had a blast and have truly made some lovely friends we will keep in touch with.

"This isn't negative for us because we have loved running this pub, but it needs investment and support from the brewery and they haven't done this for us to carry on moving the pub forward.

"We feel we have made a difference to the pub and village and hopefully it will be taken over and carry on its journey."

The pub, which dates back to the early 1930s, is owned by national firm the Stonegate Group.

The pub will take on new life from tomorrow under a new couple, Emma and Chris, who welcome customers old and new.
