A new holiday let could be built in a coastal village.

Janie Thompson hopes to build the one-bedroom property next to her existing No 33 Cottages business at Thornham, near Hunstanton.

A business plan submitted to West Norfolk Council says: "The applicant aims to market the holiday let to their currently established customer base.

"Being situated close to the coast, it provides the ideal location for those who may want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or just a quiet retreat by the sea."

It adds four existing lets on the site, on the High Street opposite Thornham Deli, have been successful.

It predicts the property will cost £200,000 to build and bring in a profit of £33,000 a year.

A decision is expected from West Norfolk Council later this year.
