A Norfolk footpath has been forced to close for emergency repairs after it was deemed unsafe due to rotting main beams.

A total of 66 meters of Raynham Footpath Two will be closed for the foreseeable future while a new bridge is installed.

Norfolk County Council says a diversion route is in place during the emergency works.

The footpath is closed between both the junction of Raynham Footpath 3 and Raynham Footpath 2 and the junction of Raynham Footpath 4 and Raynham Footpath 2.

The works will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s community and environmental services department and its contractors.

It is not yet known how much the emergency repairs will cost.
