A major bank has announced it will close 28 more branches - and a Norfolk town is affected.

Lloyds Banking Group will shut its Gorleston High Street store on January 20, 2025, amid a fresh cull.

A spokesman for the firm explained the move was due to more people using online banking services.

"Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch," he said.

"Most customers are now using our mobile banking app, internet banking or calling us instead.

"This means they are using branches - including our Gorleston branch - much less.

"Because of this, we'll be closing our Gorleston branch."

The firm has said 937 customers use the Gorleston branch each month - 95pc of which are personal customers and 5pc of which use it for business purposes.
