From festivals to a hit musical, these are some of the biggest and best events happening in Norfolk in July 2024.

1. Festival Too, King's Lynn

Where: King's Staithe Square, King's Lynn, PE30 1JE (June 29/30), Tuesday Market Place, King's Lynn, PE30 1JW (July 5/6 and July 12/13)

When: June 29, 30, July 5, 6, 12, 13

Price: Free

Festival Too returns to King's Lynn this summer with 28 acts performing across three weekends. 

The line-up ranges from emerging local talent to internationally renowned musicians, including Sigala, Ocean Colour Scene, Sandi Thom, 911 and Livin' Joy.

2. Gala Day, Thursford

Where: Thursford Collection, Thursford, NR21 0AS

When: July 7, 11am-5pm

Price: £14, under 12s: free, thursford.com

Gala Day celebrates Thursford Collection founder G.T. Cushing, with exhibitors showcasing mechanical organs, vintage vehicles and steam engines.

There will also be an air display from The Flying Comrades, street food, live music and the recently restored showman’s engine Victory will be in steam.

3. Folk in a Field, West Acre

Where: Bradmoor Woods, West Acre, PE32 1UL

When: July 4-7

Price: Three-day adult ticket: £160, three-day teen ticket: £61.60 (both including camping Thursday to Monday), accompanied under 12s: free, shower passes and day tickets with one night of camping also available, folkinafield.co.uk

Set in a remote woodland clearing, the line-up includes Blackbeard's Tea Party, Ferocious Dog and The Drystones. 

This family-friendly folk festival also features wellness treatments, free activities for children and adults, local ales and ciders and much more.

4. 101 Dalmatians the Musical, Norwich

Where: Norwich Theatre Royal, Theatre Street, Norwich, NR2 1RL

When: July 9-13

Price: £10 - £54.50, norwichtheatre.org

This classic canine caper is brought to life on stage with spectacular puppetry, show-stopping choreography and witty songs. 

Steps singer Faye Tozer will star as Cruella de Vil on the Norwich dates of the UK and Ireland tour.

5. Dereham Blues Festival, Dereham

Where: Various venues in Dereham

When: July 10-14

Price: Free entry to gigs, a small charge for bookable workshops and talks, see the full programme at derehambluesfestival.org.uk

Dereham Blues Festival returns for its 10th anniversary, with more than 60 acts performing in various town centre venues over five days. 

New for 2024 is the Community Blues Explosion, which will feature workshops and talks.

6. Lord Mayor's Weekend, Norwich

Where: Norwich city centre

When: July 13 and 14

Price: Free

The Lord Mayor's Weekend, hosted by Norwich City Council, returns in July and the main event is the Lord Mayor's Procession on Saturday.

The colourful parade will start at Norwich Cathedral at 3pm and end in Chapelfield Gardens, where there will be a day of family activities and evening live music - headlined by the UK Foo Fighters.

The weekend is rounded off on Sunday with The Great Norwich Duck Race at Lady Julian Bridge from 2.30pm.

7. Norwich Pride, Norwich

Where: Norwich city centre

When: July 27

Price: Free

The 16th Norwich Pride takes place this summer and the main event is the Pride March, which will leave City Hall at 1pm and finish in Chapelfield Gardens.

There will be stalls and entertainment across the city centre, with the full programme available at norwichpride.org.uk
