A family-friendly variety show filled with laughter, magic and music is coming to Sheringham Little Theatre.

Titled If It's Laughter You're After, the show is an entertaining combination of double acts, solo spots, and musical performances.

Popular entertainer Olly Day and his long-standing friend, the comedy musician Nigel "Boy" Syer, are at the heart of the show.

Their performance includes their renowned fishermen's finale, magic and ventriloquist tricks from Olly, and comedy songs with a Norfolk flavour from Nigel.

They're joined by guest singer Eva Bridger who adds powerhouse ballads and show songs to the mix.

Mr Day said: "It’s a family-friendly variety style show like we used to have on old fashioned Saturday night telly."

He described the close connection between him and Nigel, saying: "Nigel is one of my dearest friends.

"We were born on the same road in Norwich, Sprowston Road, and have been performing together for years.

"I like to think we have the same kind of relationship as Morecambe and Wise, where we know what each other is thinking - which comes in handy if one of us forgets something.

"We are like an old married couple."

Although it's been running for around a decade, including regular appearances at Gorleston Pavilion, this is its inaugural performance in Sheringham.

This is partially due to Nigel's retirement from full summer seasons, prompting what Olly humorously describes as a "Norfolk World Tour."

After last performing at the Little Theatre 35 years ago, Olly said he was excited to return to "see friends old and new."

The show will take place on July 19 at 7.30pm.

Tickets can be booked online or through the box office.
