A man is set to stand trial accused of assaulting a woman on a popular Norwich walking and cycling path.
Derry Bates, 44, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence.
It follows an alleged attack on Marriott's Way, near Barker Street, shortly before 1.30pm on May 23 this year.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but has since been discharged.
On Monday (June 24) the case was up at Norwich Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation (PTPH) hearing.
Bates, of no fixed abode, refused to attend but a potential trial, expected to last three to four days, was fixed for November 18 this year.
A further case management hearing was fixed for July 19.
