Details of the funeral arrangements for Norwich City legend Terry Allcock have been revealed - as one of his fellow Canaries during the famous 1959 FA Cup run added his tribute.

Norwich City supporters will be able to show their respects when Mr Allcock's hearse does a lap outside Carrow Road, where he plundered so many of the goals which made him the club's second highest goalscorer.

And Jimmy Hill, the last surviving member of the Norwich City team which reached the semi-final of the FA Cup in 1959, said his former teammate deserved a fitting send-off.

Mr Hill, 88, who made 195 appearances for Norwich City and scored 55 goals, said: "Terry and I got on very well, on and off the pitch. The '59ers had great team spirit. That's what carried us through.

"He was a very good player. There was no selfishness with him. If you were in a better position he'd give you the ball.

"He was a good friend. Whenever I came back to Norwich, it would be Terry that I'd call first. He was a great guy and a real team player. He was number one for me."

Norwich City Hall of Famer Mr Hill, who helped the Canaries win promotion from the Third Division and netted against Rochdale when the club won the League Cup in 1962, now lives in Eastbourne.

He said he hoped fans would show their respects for Mr Allcock, who died at the age of 88 on June 11.

Mr Hill said: "I would love to be there, but travel is difficult for me these days. I had five years in Norwich and they were the best five years of my career."

Known as The Count, Mr Allcock scored 127 goals in a Canaries career spanning 11 years - from 1958 to 1969.
