An inquest investigating the tragic death of a baby who died at a Norfolk hospital has resumed this week.
Phoebe Whitlock-Jones died on June 3 last year, when she was just one week old.
The tiny tot was born at 33 weeks and five days at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn and was transferred to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where she died.
An inquest into her death, which is scheduled to last three days, resumed on Monday, having been opened on October 12.
Senior coroner Jacqueline Lake, conducting the inquest, said that she had died of severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy due to her premature birth and her mother having suffered a prolonged rupture of her membrane.
Over the course of the inquest, live evidence will be given by members of the QEH's maternity team, with questions set to be asked about the care mother Natasha Whitlock received leading up to her daughter's tragic death.
The court heard Phoebe was Miss Whitlock's fourth child - with two of her first three born prematurely without complications.
The inquest continues.
