Drivers will face disruption next week as a busy roundabout closes for resurfacing works.

The Gillingham Stockton roundabout, near Beccles, will be closed to traffic between 7pm and 6am for three nights from June 24 while the old worn road surface is removed and replaced with a new asphalt covering.

The A143 will be blocked at its junction with the roundabout and a signed diversion route will be in place.

Vehicles will be sent down the A146/A143 for three miles and told to take the first exit at the Hales roundabout.

They will then be directed along the A146 for nine miles until the traffic lights where they should turn right on to the B1332 to Bungay.

After 13 miles at the Ditchingham roundabout, drivers should take the first exit to Great Yarmouth.

The diversion will end after four miles.

The work will cost £93,000 and is being carried out by Norfolk County Council's Community and Environmental Services department and its contractors.
