A pooch who used to "scream with terror" when touched due to being mistreated is hoping to find a loving retirement home.
Bobby is a 12-year-old Jack Russel and Daxi mix who is currently fostered in Hingham after arriving at the Safe Rescue for Dogs centre in Wymondham in 2019.
Previously a yard dog who was abused by humans, Bobby has been rehomed twice only to have both his owners fall ill.
After finally finding a loving home five years ago, his owner became unwell and could no longer keep him.
He was rehomed again but after two years his second owner also became sick.
Back with his foster mum, Bobby finds it hard when other foster dogs come and go and needs stability.
A volunteer from Safe Rescue for Dogs said: "So many of our dogs have never known an ounce of kindness until they come to us.
"Poor Bobby was rehomed twice before and returned when the adopters became too poorly themselves to care for him.
"We really are looking for the most perfect retirement home for him forever.
"He’s made a lot of progress and is now much better with guests and has mellowed a lot."
Bobby has started to enjoy visitors and loves a fuss but will still shy away from men so is ideally looking for a lady-only home.
He wants a quiet environment with no children and although he tolerates dogs he would be happy with one quiet dog in the family or none.
He loves his walks and needs an agile person to take him out twice daily, having missed out on years of outdoor time.
