A derelict cottage beside a river could be rebuilt and extended.
Benjamin Livesley has applied for planning permission to revamp Homeland Cottage, beside the Old Bedford River, a mile north of Welney.
A planning statement says: "This is a two-bed house in a poor state of repair, which has been marked on the Ordnance Survey maps dating back to the 1880s and the Welney Tithe maps dating back to the 1830s.
"The refurbishment and extension would generally build upon the footprint of the existing dwelling.

"The dwelling would lie within an isolated plot, and as such no adverse impact on neighbouring amenity is possible."
The nearby Old Bedford River, built in the 17th century, was one of the first Fen drains.
Homelands is west of the Bedford Bank - part of the flood defences which protect the surrounding landscape.
