There are several important public information notices for communities in Norfolk to be aware of this week. 

1) Acle Straight Closure

The A47 Acle Straight from the Vauxhall roundabout to the Acle roundabout will be closed on weeknights from 8pm to 6am this week.

National Highways announced the closure was necessary "to do some remedial work to bring the road surface up to the required standard".

The agency said both lanes will be closed each weeknight until June 14.

2) Greggs expansion in Colman Road

The Colman Road bakery has applied for planning permission to expand its store.

If approved, the planning will see a new fenced-off outdoor seating area introduced during opening hours at the front of the store.

Members of the public have until Thursday to comment on the application.

3) Application for a Goods Vehicle

RJA Haulage of Woodlands View, High Green in Brooke, is applying to change an existing licence.

The firm is applying to add an operating centre to keep 10 goods vehicles and 14 trailers at the Banham Poultry site in Bunns Bank Road in Attleborough.

Owners or occupiers of land near the site who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected should make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Hillcrest House, Leeds, LS9 6NF.

4) The Estate of Ann Lilian Bush

Anybody who has a claim to the estate of Ann Lilian Bush, whose maiden name was Berry, is being asked to come forward.

Ms Bush died on August 17, 2023 at The Laurels Care Home in West Carr Road in Attleborough.

Anyone with a claim should contact Spire Solicitors at The Pines, 50 Connaught Road, NR17 2BP.

5) Surface Dressing works

Work is due to start on Monday (June 10) to surface dress a section of the A1065 Brandon Road at Hilborough.

To allow the work to be carried out safely the road will be closed on several dates when the surfacing is under way, line painting is being carried out and the cat’s eyes are being renewed.

The road will be closed overnight on Monday from 7pm to renew the cat's eyes and from 7pm on June 17 for the first surface dressing.

The second surface dressing will take place from 7pm on June 25 and there will also be work overnight on July 4.

A diversion will be in place and the work, which will cost £148,000, is being carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and its contractors Tarmac and Keir Highway Services.
