There will be disruption for drivers in the city centre later this month as a busy road is closed.

Rose Lane will be closed as the road undergoes resurfacing costing the council £32,700.

Beginning at 6am on Sunday, June 16, the disruption is expected to last until midday the same day.

The works will involve a road rejuvenator being sprayed onto the road that will soak into the top layer to preserve the asphalt for several more years.

Norfolk County Council claims this method of preservation is better for the environment and value for money.

A fully signed diversion route will be in place. A spokesman said: "The county council thanks people for their patience while this work is carried out."
