Hides at Carlton Marshes closed after string of break-ins

Hides at Carlton Marshes are being locked in the evenings after anti-social behaviour plagued the park.

The site run by Suffolk Wildlife Trust has had problems with groups gathering drinking, smoking, littering and playing loud music.

Matt Gooch, northeast site manager for the trust, also said hides had been broken into after groups had forced the windows open.

As a result, parts of the reserve have been locked off in the evenings to try and prevent any more issues.

Patrols from Lowestoft Police have also been stepped up in the area as cases of anti-social behaviour increase during the summer season.

Police are also urging anyone who may have seen any incidents at the marshes to report it to Suffolk Police.
