With this British Heart Foundation home store specialising in larger furniture, electricals and homewares, the charity shop has been based at 158-162 London Road North, Lowestoft for 20 years.

But after being destroyed in the war, the row of shops are understood to have been rebuilt in the 1960s.

The closure comes after the smaller British Heart Foundation charity shop at 39 London Road North shut its doors in 2020 after almost 25 years.

A spokesman confirmed the store at 158-162 London Road North "is closing on Saturday", and it is currently offering selected items at 50 per cent off.

Gary Purser, British Heart Foundation area manager, said: "After 20 years of business in the area, the lease on our Lowestoft store on London Road North is ending, and will sadly close on June 1.

"We would like to thank our wonderful staff and volunteers for all their support over the years, some of which will be moving to other stores nearby.

"We’d also like to say a big thank you to our loyal and lovely customers in Lowestoft.

"They can still support the British Heart Foundation and visit our Great Yarmouth and Norwich stores, or shop online on our BHF eBay store.

"Our free collection service is still available too so please do consider donating to us if you can.

"We’re grateful for the ongoing support of our customers, who help to fund lifesaving research to help the 37,000 people living with heart and circulatory disease in East Suffolk."
