A Lowestoft man has been charged with attempted arson after a petrol attack in Great Yarmouth.
Paul Courtney, 40, of The Street, Lowestoft, is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court today (May 30).
He is charged with attempted arson, criminal damage, two counts of assault by beating, and one count of making off without payment.
It follows a report a man had forced his way into a home on Middle Market Road and doused those inside with petrol before running away at around 6am on Monday.
Minutes later, the man was assaulted on Regent Road and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
He was arrested after being released from hospital.
Following the reports of the assault on Regent Road, Karl Pammen, 40 and of no fixed abode, was charged with attempted GBH.
Pammen appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. He was released on bail to appear at Norwich Crown Court on June 25.
Police and forensic officers were on Middle Market Road on Monday.
One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said they heard people shouting and screaming from the property before police arrived shortly after.
