A “vulnerable” man who was being supported by a homelessness charity died after taking drugs, a court has heard.

Matthew Suttle had been living at the Ripley Project in Norwich when his death happened there on February 19.

The 50-year-old was identified to officers from Norfolk police by a support worker.

An inquest into his death was opened on May 30 at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, based at County Hall.

The brief hearing heard that Mr Suttle was born in Eye, Suffolk, on April 9, 1973.

The primary medical cause of death was given as combined drug toxicity, which included cocaine.

A full inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place later in the year at the court on October 31.

The Ripley Project is a charity-based organisation supporting homeless vulnerable men and women.
