A Norfolk charity is inviting families to join its annual remembrance event.

The Nelson’s Journey Walk of Smiles is set to return on Saturday, June 15, at Octagon Park, Little Plumstead.

Primarily for families of children supported by the charity, the event is open to the public for festivities including countryside walks, BBQ, games, and arts and crafts for all ages.

Families are encouraged to bring their pets, who can participate in the special dog show.

The charity will also host a Teddy Bear TLC stand for children's cuddly toys.

Gary Stevens, funding and marketing manager at Nelson’s Journey, said: “The event is a great mixture of reflection and fun.

"It’s very important for us to keep in touch with families we have supported in the past, and welcome new families and friends who are coming to walk in somebody’s memory for the first time.

“During 2023, Nelson’s Journey received referrals for over 700 bereaved children and young people."

Attendees can buy tickets on the day, or online in advance at a reduced rate, while also being encouraged to seek sponsorship for their walks.
