An unexploded bomb believed to be from the Second World War was discovered on a Norfolk beach this morning.
Norfolk police were first alerted to the discovery on Winterton beach just before 7.15am.
Officers installed a 100m cordon around the area and informed the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team who were called out to assess it.
A spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed the Winterton Coastguard Rescue Team worked to support the force during the incident.
A Norfolk Constabulary spokeswoman confirmed just after 12.30pm that the bomb had been safely detonated.
