An 18-year-old has denied attempted murder following a stabbing in Thetford after appearing in court with another teen.
Danny Norman, who is aged in his 30s, suffered multiple stab wounds when he was attacked on Old Bury Road, near the centre of the town, while walking with his fiancee and two young daughters on March 10, Mother's Day.
Elvis Price, of Amulet Close in Thetford, is accused of attempted murder and also pleaded not guilty to possession of a bladed item when he appeared before Norwich Crown Court.
His counsel Carina Clare said his defence would be that he was defending another and that he denied taking a knife to the scene.
A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also charged with attempted murder and escaping unlawful custody.
He did not enter pleas and his defence counsel said he would be making an application to dismiss charges at a future hearing scheduled for July 22.
Price appeared via video link from HMP Norwich, while the younger teen appeared in person having been brought from a secure training unit in Milton Keynes.
Judge Alice Robinson set a trial for September 30. Both teenagers were told they will remain on remand.
