A Norwich restaurant known for its top-notch tasting menus is gearing up for summer with a new outdoor offering.

Richard and Katja Bainbridge opened Benedicts in St Benedicts Street in July 2015, the same year that Mr Bainbridge won BBC2's Great British Menu.

It holds three AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, features in the Michelin Guide and was named 'Restaurant of the Year' at the Norfolk Food and Drink Awards 2023.

Despite its success, the team does not rest on its laurels and they make sure to keep things fresh.

They have just launched an al fresco menu, with a range of snacks, small plates, large plates and desserts, with the majority of dishes below £10.

The large plates on offer are a lamb breast, pea and quinoa salad, marinated trout, fennel, orange and ricotta and wild garlic tortellini.

Mr Bainbridge said: "It is a difficult time for the hospitality industry, so you have to rethink things to keep customers coming through the door.

"The al fresco menu is great value for money, with the same quality and focus on local produce and seasonality that Benedicts is known for."

The al fresco menu is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 12noon, both until around 8.30pm/9 pm.
