Filming is under way for the new Alan Partridge series which sees the broadcaster settle back in Norfolk.
And Did Those Feet... with Alan Partridge follows the presenter as he reintegrates into life in Britain after a year working in Saudi Arabia.
But the move leaves Partridge, played by Steve Coogan, with a deep sense of unease and in the six-part series he goes on a quest to understand what’s going on with Britain and his own mind.
The series is currently being shot in the south of England and Jon Petrie, BBC director of comedy commissioning, said the show will “firmly cement Alan Partridge as a national treasure”.
He said: "This look into the state of the nation (and Alan’s own psyche) through a unique lens promises to further bolster the already iconic repertoire of the most legendary comedy character in the UK.”
The show is a Baby Cow production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer written by Coogan, Neil Gibbons and Rob Gibbons.

Sarah Monteith, Baby Cow CEO says: “Baby Cow is delighted to present all new Alan Partridge for BBC One.
"Broadcaster, Prodigal Son, National Treasure – he’s everything we need right now.”
The documentary series will see Partridge unpack what is missing in his life, explore why the nation is in such a funk and find out what it might take to keep a person funk-free.
He added: "I’m delighted to follow the Daily Mail’s exclusive coverage of filming and their gallery of paparazzi-style images with my own press release more or less confirming the details they’ve announced.”
In November, more than 400 fans queued to meet Partridge at a book signing in Norwich.
People travelled from across the world to see the star in his spiritual home.
