A teenager accused of attempted murder has been charged with absconding after a three week manhunt. 

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested by officers in Cambridgeshire on Friday. 

He was taken to Wymondham police station and charged before appearing at Norwich Magistrates Court on Saturday where he was remanded into youth detention to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday, May 23.

The teenager was previously charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing in Thetford of a man in his 30s, who was attacked in front of his fiancée and two young daughters on Mother’s Day morning.

The victim, Danny Norman, suffered multiple stab wounds during the incident.

On April 23, the 17-year-old and another suspect, Elvis Price, 18, were arrested in Kent after a six-week manhunt and charged with attempted murder.

Price has also been charged with possession of a bladed article.

He was brought to Wymondham police station and charged before appearing at Norwich Magistrates Court on Saturday where he was remanded into youth detention to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday, May 23.
