A woman taken to hospital with ill health died after a fall during her admission, a court has heard.
Jacqueline Burgess was admitted to the James Paget Hospital on April 16.
She had been taken there after becoming unwell at her home in Waveney Crescent, Lowestoft.
During her admission, the 81-year-old, who lived with dementia, fell over.
Speaking at an inquest opening into her death, area coroner Samantha Goward said: "While in hospital she suffered a fall and her health deteriorated further."
She died there on May 1.
The primary medical cause of death was given as “fragility of old age and dementia”.
A retired bookkeeper, she had been born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, on August 11, 1942.
A full inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place later in the year at the court.
