A Norfolk firm that supplies parts for some of the world’s most successful F1 teams has been awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise for its contributions to motorsport innovation.
Bf1systems, which has been based in Diss since it was founded 30 years ago, is a leading provider of electrical equipment and parts for a range of clients including luxury car manufacturers, Formula 1 teams, and the aerospace industry.
Its tyre pressure monitoring system can be found on every vehicle on the F1 grid, and its steering wheels in Porsche and Aston Martin cars.
And now, in its 30th year of business, the firm can also add the King’s Award to its list of accolades - an honour which entitles the holder to use the esteemed Royal Emblem for five years in recognition of their achievement.
James Welham, managing director, said: “This is a very special moment. We pride ourselves on committing to innovation in everything we do, being courageous and having fun.
“The award proves to our people, our customers and our partners that we do provide that competitive advantage.”
