A Hollywood actor who recently branched out into music has been added to the stellar line-up for Latitude Festival 2024.

The event returns to Henham Park in Suffolk from July 25 to 28 2024 and Damian Lewis will perform on the Second Stage on Friday.

He will join headliners Duran Duran, Kasabian, Keane, London Grammar and comedians Sara Pascoe, Jo Brand, Judi Love and Joanne McNally.

The announcement follows the success of his debut album Mission Creep released last year and his recent tour included a gig at Epic Studios in Norwich.

Lewis, known primarily as an actor for shows such as Band of Brothers and Homeland, wrote all of the original songs on the album during the first lockdown of the pandemic.

It was the continuation of a story that began when Lewis, after leaving school, took to the road with his guitar and went busking through continental Europe.

He said: "Latitude Festival holds a very special place in my heart and we have attended as a family for years.

"This is undoubtedly the biggest show I have ever done and I am very grateful for this opportunity."

Melvin Benn, festival director, said: "Performing at Latitude is the next step up in Damian's already thriving musical career.

"For those who haven't heard him, you can expect blues, folk-rock, Americana and beyond from Damian and his truly exceptional band."

A whole host of local musicians have also been added to the line-up and they are Samfire, EV, Loome and, thanks to a partnership with Lowestoft's First Light Festival, Cam T and Finn Doherty.

Samfire, an alt-pop artist and producer, said: “Suffolk’s serene landscape has inspired so much of my songwriting and I can’t wait to bring local audiences and visitors the dreamy psychedelic sounds it conjures."
