A man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car smashed into the front of a city business just before Christmas has had his bail extended for a fourth time.

Police were called to Pure Physiotherapy in City Road shortly after 7pm on December 23 last year after a grey VW Golf crashed into the office and was later found in Cyprus Street.

The unnamed man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving, as well as failing to stop at the scene and failing to report an accident.

However, police are still appealing for any witnesses after confirming the bail had been extended until May 24 - having been bailed until March 24, April 6 and May 1.

The damage caused to Pure Physiotherapy was at least £30,000 and the space is still unoccupied.

However, the business's Adelaide Street clinical services and its clinic in City Road - next to where the incident happened - are still operating.
