A family-owned Norfolk garage has bought out a local motorhomes business, in a move owners hope will help to diversify its offering.

Desira Group, which already has eight dealerships across Norfolk and Suffolk, has purchased Great Yarmouth-based motorhome dealer Simpsons, which has been in the area for more than 63 years.

Specialising in new and used motorhomes sales, repairs, and servicing, its new owners said they hope the business will help to bring in new customers. 

A spokesman for Desira Group said: “Motorhomes is a new growth area for us, and the used car sales and aftersales franchises compliment our current Great Yarmouth dealership.

“Over the last two years, we have been working on various businesses and brands to add to the group, ensuring any new partnerships would be the right fit and a major opportunity. 

“So, the Desira directors have a great relationship with Belinda Crick and Andrew Aldis, directors at Simpsons, we hugely appreciate all their hard work and support for ensuring we enjoy such a smooth handover.”
