The new owners of a pub on the Norfolk coast have announced the head chef who will help bring their vision to life.

The White Horse in Holme, near Hunstanton, was recently purchased by Anglian Country Inns and it is undergoing a refurbishment.  

The Grade II-listed 18th-century pub is scheduled to reopen for food and drink at the end of May 2024 and Ian Daw has been appointed the head chef.

Mr Daw grew up in Surrey and gained his professional catering qualifications at Farnborough College and he has been working in hospitality since he was 16.

He said: "Having met some fabulous local producers, I am in awe of the wonders that the north Norfolk coast will bring to my menu and ultimately put on the plate for my diners."

There will also be an in-house bakery, which will produce bread, pastries and more. 

Howard Nye, operations director at Anglian Country Inns, said: "We have a state-of-the-art kitchen for Ian to create in and we are more than delighted to have him on board."
