There are a number of important public information notices for communities in Norfolk to be aware of this week. 

1. Resurfacing work in north Norfolk

Work is due to start on Wells Road in Walsingham on April 19 and the road will need to be closed at stages during the project. 

Road stud removal is due to take place overnight on April 19 before the road is closed between 9am and 4pm on April 30 for the first round of surfacing dressing. 

It will be closed again between 9am and 4pm on May 17 for further surface dressing before overnight works on May 22.  

A fully signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration of the works and access to properties will be maintained at all times. 

2. Melville and Mayell licence application 

The wine and spirits merchant in St Benedicts Street has applied to extend its opening hours and apply for an off licence. 

The business wants to be able to open from 10am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 8pm on Sunday.

The application states these longer opening hours would allow the firm to host events.

Day-to-day opening hours would be from midday to 9pm Monday to Saturday and from midday to 6pm on Sunday.

3. Shipfield road closure in Norwich

Shipfield, in the NR3 area of Norwich, will remain closed until April 22 to assist with gas mains replacements in Sprowston Road.

Norfolk County Council will be closing the road for the duration of the works.

A diversion route is in place via Sprowston Road, Wall Road, Clabon Road and Denton Road to Shipfield.

4. Wells roadworks

Norfolk County Council is set to carry out road resurfacing work at the Two Furlong Hill and Burnt Street junction in Wells and also surface dressing work on Burnt Street and Church Street. 

The Two Furlong Hill and Burnt Street junction will be closed on April 22 and April 23 and Burnt Street and Church Street will be closed on April 24 and April 25.

Access to businesses and homes within the closure will be maintained but there is a chance of minor delays.

Fully signed diversion routes will be in place for the duration of the work which is costing £47,000.

5. Goods vehicle operator's licence for Jack Richards & Son Ltd

Jack Richards & Son Ltd is applying to change an existing licence to keep an extra four goods vehicles at the operating centre at Smurfit Kappa Sheetfeeding in Vulcan Road North in Norwich.

People in the area who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected should make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner.

At the same time, a copy of the representations should be sent to the applicant.
