Armed police were seen pointing a gun at an armed teenager on a Norwich bus last night.

A huge police presence was seen in Theatre Street as officers swarmed a 21 bus at around 10.30pm.

Armed units entered the First bus, which was full of passengers heading to Bowthorpe, where they were seen pointing a gun at the man at the back of the top deck.

One eyewitness said: "I was absolutely shocked to see it, I felt so sorry for the poor bus driver and all the passengers.

"When the police arrested the man and took him off the bus he seemed to be laughing and joking."

The bus driver called the police after one of the men refused to pay and wouldn't get off the bus.

The arrest follows an incident at a shop in London Street at 10.02pm where police were called to reports of a group of three men with a gun.

On the bus, the three were arrested and a BB gun was seized.

Police say a man in his 20s, an 18-year-old and a teenager were arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm. 

They have been taken to Wymondham Police Station for questioning where they remain.
