A primary school has been told "major improvement" is needed after a food hygiene inspection found packs of ham with no use-by dates in a fridge and areas of its kitchen in "poor repair".
Kitchens at Edmund De Moundeford Primary School at Feltwell, near Thetford, were given a rating of 1 - the second lowest after 0 - after a routine inspection by West Norfolk Council officials on January 30.
While it was rated "good" for hygienic food handling and "generally satisfactory" for cleanliness, inspectors said major improvement was needed for the management of food safety.
Julie Lillycrop, headteacher at Edmund De Moundeford Primary School said all issues raised at the inspection had been addressed.

Inspectors found packs of ham in a fridge with no use-by dates. They said systems should be reviewed immediately to prevent the use of food which could be unsafe.
They also said surfaces were not being cleaned and sanitised regularly.
Wall coverings in areas of the kitchen were in "poor repair", with peeling paint, while cobwebs were found in storerooms and behind items of catering equipment.
Inspectors also said freezers were in "poor repair" with mould growing in their door seals.
There were also no paper towels beside a washroom sink and the toilet paper dispenser was also empty.
Mrs Lillycrop said: “Both our catering company, Dolce, and our school have addressed all issues identified during a previous inspection, and we are confident that these adjustments will lead to a better rating upon the upcoming reinspection.”
Edmund De Moundeford, on The Beck, has 168 children aged between four and 11 on its roll.
It has been rated "good" at its last three Ofsted inspections, with the most recent inspectors' report stating: "Edmund de Moundeford is a lively, happy school."
