Nestled amid the west Norfolk wilderness stands a holiday retreat from a bygone era.

Hank's Ranch is a replica 1800s American ranch located between Thetford and Downham Market where visitors can book a room and experience frontier life.

It is the brainchild of Hank and Sarah Pender whose plan for the ranch includes building three differently themed guesthouses - a jail, a general store and a church.

And the couple has just completed work on the "General Store" just in time for spring.

They said: "The General Store invites guests to step back in time and experience the charm of an old-fashioned frontier shop.

"But despite its historical nods, the cabin boasts all the modern conveniences guests could desire."

A builder and electrician by trade, Mr Pender has built every cabin by hand from ideas scribbled on the back of an envelope.

Inside the General Store is a fitted kitchen, bathroom, king-sized bed and electrical plugs. Rocking chairs can be found on the verandas and it has a fire pit.

The General Store and Jail can be booked online at hanksranch.co.uk.
